It's funny how easy it is to fritter away an entire day doing pretty much nothing. It's about 3 p.m. now and all I've done today is play on Facebook, play a little guitar, and search for waterfront properties in England (my hobby). Ate some scrambled eggs and Frosted Mini-Wheats, then some Haribo while I property-hunted. I haven't had any meat or alcohol this week, trying to quit more things (I've quit thing far more difficult to give up -- coffee and Diet Coke, for example) the older I get. So last night I found this place near me that sells horchata, and since I was too lazy to go out I ordered dinner from there so they'd deliver. I can't remember what I ordered, but they didn't have it so they sent over some beef tacos instead and when they arrived I couldn't eat them -- they were good, I took a bite, but I just couldn't eat the rest. Maybe I've gone off red meat in my old age, I don't know. Or maybe it's the soupy weather, all I want to eat is salads and light things. Anyway, it wasn't worth it in the end because the horchata wasn't very good, so if anyone knows a place downtown that makes good ones, let me know. Sus and Ami got me hooked in LA.
Oh, wardrobe problems to contend with as well. Going to a party tonight that's "Dress: Great Gatsby or Decadent." As far as I can discern, this means "Beaded" for women. Since I don't have anything even vaguely beaded or 1920s-ish, I've gone through my rails and found one sparkly-type Veronique Branquinho thing I got in Paris ages ago. Have to try it on to see if it makes me look totally obese. Even if it does, I think I'll wear it anyway.
