
Glad I popped by early last night to the launch party of new bi-ann mag Dossier Journal at Norwood -- heard that they shut down the door at 7:30 due to over-capacity issues. Good party, genteel townhouse space, lots of familiar faces from Paris.
Dossier's creative director is Skye Parrott, photographer and former managing editor of style bible Self Service. Skye's aunt and uncle flew up from Virginia for the party and they are just the sweetest people ever.
Not surprising, then, that lots of the early-00s-Paris-diaspora were in attendance -- France-Finns Katariina Lamberg and Anna Ahonen flew into town and contributor Akari Endo, former of Bureau Betak, was also there.
The magazine itself feels very experimental, like a just-this-side-of-polished scrapbook featuring work by big names (David Armstrong) as well as up-and-comers.
